One of my jobs as a life coach is to help you set your goals so that we can change your life in a positive way. One of the most important things about setting these goals is to have your start date and your completion date and be clear on both of these. Both dates are extremely important.
Define your goals.
The first thing we do is define what your goals are. What do you want to achieve in your life? What do you want to have? To be? What isn't working in your life- set a goal to change it. These can be the smallest goals to the biggest goals.
Do an action plan.
Define the goal and then the next step is to develop the action plan. The action plan is where you identify the steps that it will take for you to achieve these goals. Don't procrastinate. Procrastination is anti-productive so once you've set your beginning date then get started.
Set realistic goals.
Goal setting is very important because what you are doing is setting a plan, a plan that you are going to follow. Keep your start date and completion date accurate. Don't set unrealistic goals or unrealistic dates because you will set yourself up to fail and then that knowledge of failing will get in the way of you achieving your next goals. Be your friend on this, not your enemy.Setting goals is always a good thing. It's about moving forward. Positive changes. This is exciting stuff! Imagine what your life could be like in six months! But not if you don't get started soon.
