This morning I was sitting preparing and thinking about what I was going to do today as the subject of my video. My husband was walking in and out of the room getting ready for work. He is used to my Monday mornings being spent like this.
In the meantime, I had got up and looked out the window. It was cold, rainy and really grey. I came back and sat down and he came in again and I said to him: "Have you looked outside? It's really cold and grey." He immediately came back to me and said: "adjust your mindset".
I said "What?" and he said "you know what to do. Adjust your mindset on this and change how you are feeling. Do it now. Make a list of all the things you are grateful for, the many blessings we have in our lives and change your focus." He also said- "or you can choose to have a grey day today. That's ok too. But make your choice."
So, I sat and wrote down so many things that I am blessed with in my life (especially him!) and as the list got longer I was feeling better and after 10-15 minutes I was back on track. He told me afterwards that I am always telling him these things and it was good to be able to remind me. If I'm having a grey day, I need to adjust my mindset. It was so interesting to see and be part of this entire exchange. And to see how beautifully it worked and so quickly. Try it next time you make the choice not to have a grey day.
