A comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there. It's good to get out of it sometimes.
We may have created a beautiful comfortable life; why change it. But we know, and it has been proven, that personal growth and self-development tend to be more powerful when we aren't comfortable. When we are forced, pushed out of it and into something new and something not comfortable.
We find out who we are in those situations when we are forced to grow.
I'm suggesting you choose it instead. Look at where you are in life and look around at other things and see what you might like to do that is outside your "zone" and then do it. Plan, set your goals and then just do it.
For example, my last year getting out of my comfort zone goal was finding a new office from which to see clients. I've always had clients come to my home office and last year I thought I would try something else and I love it.
I work with other like-minded professionals, it's a proper office and I've met many lovely people working there. My clients enjoy coming there for their appointments so it's a win-win all around.
Getting outside of my comfort zone
This year's project is to set up a women's gardening group for my local community. It is really outside my comfort zone because I'm already very busy and this means I will need to find more hours in my days. But I can do it. I will do it.
Gardening is one of my hobbies and I'm passionate about it and if I can share that with others then that's fantastic. I will keep you posted...Go. Get out of your comfort zone. Have fun. Push your limits. Get uncomfortable and enjoy it.
